In France 72000 new cases of PCa were diagnosed in 2011. Several treatment options exist, such as radical prostatectomy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, focal therapy (HIFU) and active surveillance. With the progress of MRI and targeted biopsies, handling of patients with PCa has considerably changed. Furthermore many efforts have been made by the ISUP (International Society of Urologic Pathology) towards standardization of gross examination, Gleason scoring and reporting of biopsies and prostatectomies. International standards exist and the aim of this course is to communicate on progress and latest developments in PCa.
